Vivacity: 8th May with Kev the Poet

What a great show we had yesterday. It was all a bit last minute dot com after the planned guest cancelled. Luckily local legend, conscious hip-hop artist, poet, journalist, wandering tsaoist and i-ching reader Kev the Poet was able to step in and save the day.

We had so much fun in the studio musing about life in Bristol, the upcoming festival season, what inspires him and why it’s important to create consciously. We both share a love of fancy dress, glitter, creativity and giggling like the naughty little monkeys (Chinese astrological sign) we both are.

I love his philosophy – basically be good to each other, have fun and trust in the synchronistic flow of life. Kev collaborates with a huge range of other artists and producers and I always enjoy people who have a whole bunch of projects going on. I love the creativity of this city – it really makes people buzz. It was great playing out some of his music on air – tracks like “shake it” and “infinite being”. The hour was over all too soon though and I wish I’d had more time to play tunes like “festival bars” and to talk more about his wandering pixie gypsy life but I guess there’s always another show 🙂

Oh and Vivacity now has a facebook page and I’d love it if you would “like” it.
