I met Yantara Jiro last year when he was in Bristol doing some workshops and I was charmed then by his sylph like presence and playful energy. So I was very happy to be going to this concert to hear more of his beautiful vocals.
Joining him in the cute little conservatory at the Daisy Centre were Lou Kreig with his glass didgereedoo and Paul Foss on the hang, their weaving melodies calling us gently into the space and into ourselves after the busy-ness of the day.
Yantara went on to tone and overtone along to his crystal bowls creating some blissful sounds that drifted serenely around the room. When we were invited to chant along to “om mani padme om” I had the powerful experience of a bright yellow daisy unfurling its petals in my solar plexus and bringing some much needed sunshine and strength into my body in this cold wet British summer.
And during Yantara’s singing of the White Tara mantra I could almost sense the notes floating on the high, thin air of the Himalayas. This was an amazing evening full of exquisite music and love harmony blessings and colours.
